I have presented 84+ Invited Papers/Posters (i.e., speaking engagements). I have done numerous radio/TV interviews and several news stories focused on my forestry expertise area. I have also served as featured applied forest scientist in the: 1.) Modern Marvels 2004 Logging Technology documentary; 2.) Forest Foundation and California Forest Products Commission DVD titled “Rethinking Forests” in July 2008; and 3.) the March 2009 Fox Sport Science program. Additionally, I have been involved in 18 consulting projects. A list of these publications, study guides, technical reports, and invited papers is provided below.

Doug retired from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo after 30 years of productive work in management, teaching , and applied research. He is a Registered Professional Forester and Certified Silviculturist.>

Mary L. Piirto. Mary was born and raised in a farming family in Madera, California. She has worked for Madera County Credit Bureau, Finance and Thrift and Wells Fargo Bank. Mary retired from Wells Fargo Bank after 33 years of very productive work as a Vice President and Personal Banker. Mary oversees financial management of Crestline Forestry. She is proud of her two sons, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Her hobbies include cooking, photography, and gardening. >
