My Story – Douglas D. Piirto, Ph.D,
RPF Professor Emeritus, Consulting Forester

(1970-2017): 206 Publications/Reports/Presentations as follows: 43publications; 44 Technical Reports; 15 Study Guides/Lab Manuals/Web Pages; 7 professional reports; 11 Opinion Editorials. I have presented 84+ Invited Papers/Posters (i.e., speaking engagements). I have done numerous radio/TV interviews and several news stories focused on my forestry expertise area. I have also served as featured applied forest scientist in the: 1.) Modern Marvels 2004 Logging Technology documentary; 2.) Forest Foundation and California Forest Products Commission DVD titled “Rethinking Forests” in July 2008; and 3.) the March 2009 Fox Sport Science program. Additionally, I have been involved in 18 consulting projects. A list of these publications, study guides, technical reports, and invited papers is provided below.
